There are 2 options for Motorcycle/Moped parking:
Option 1: Purchase a Motorcycle or Moped permit.
Motorcycle permits are valid only in spaces which are marked by signs, or the letter “M” painted on the parking surface. Motorcycle permits are not valid in Moped zones.
Moped permits are valid only in spaces which are marked by signs, or the letter “MP” painted on the parking surface. Moped permits are also valid at bicycle racks unless the bicycle rack is signed to exclude Mopeds. Moped permits are not valid in Motorcycle zones.
Option 2: Use your zone permit on your Motorcycle/Moped.
If you purchased a zone permit (Orange, Green, Yellow, Red, Blue) you can use the permit on your Motorcycle/Moped. The zone permit is valid in a marked vehicle space within that zone. Note: Zone permits (i.e. Orange, Green, Yellow, Blue) displayed on Motorcycle/Mopeds are not valid in M/MP spaces.
For example, a Motorcycle displaying a Green 2 permit may park in a vehicle space in the Green 2 zone, or any vehicle space in Yellow, Red, and Blue. The Motorcycle displaying a Green 2 zone permit may not park in a Motorcycle space.
How to display your zone permit on your Motorcycle/Moped:
Permit Display Cases are available at cost to permit holders. The Permit Display Case can be returned for a refund when you are finished using it. Permit Display Cases are not eligible to be purchased using the payroll deduction method.
The Permit Display Case is designed to lock around the handlebars or other solid part of the Motorcycle/Moped.
It is the responsibility of the person using the permit to properly display the permit. (WAC 504-15-520)
