Cougar Way Will Be Closed For Home Football Games

WSU officials have established a temporary “restricted traffic zone” on a section of Cougar Way from D St. to Stadium Way during home football games 3 hours pre-game for approximately 2 hours. Vehicular access to this section of Cougar Way will be restricted to emergency vehicles, transit vehicles, stadium support vehicles and vehicles displaying disability permits for the purpose of dropping off persons with disabilities. The restricted traffic zone is being established for the following reasons:

  • Improve pedestrian safety and access for the large volume of fans crossing Cougar Way to access pre-game activities.
  • Improve safety for athletes and game officials.
  • Create an opportunity to improve perimeter control and security of Martin Stadium and related Athletic facilities.

Except for the Library parking garage, there will be no access to or from permit parking lots within the closure. If you have a Crimson 4 parking permit and will need access to your car during the closure, you may move your car prior to the closure and park in the Gray 1 lot east of Beasley Coliseum. WSU vehicles with an operational necessity to access the closure will be granted access on a case by case basis (please access the closure through the end of the closure closest to your destination).
