Special Holidays, Vacations and Summer Parking Definitions:
University Holidays
University Holidays
A University Holiday is a day when all university facilities are generally closed.
Currently, University Holidays include:
New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. For the purpose of parking enforcement, President’s Day and the December Closure are considered University Holidays.
Note: University Holidays could change from year to year.

Vacation Periods
Vacation Periods
A Vacation Period is a period of time when classes or final exams are not in session. Except for holidays that fall within this period, the business offices of the university are open during this time. Vacation Periods include:
Summer vacation which follows summer session, Winter vacation between the fall and spring semesters, Thanksgiving vacation, and Spring vacation. For the purpose of parking enforcement, President’s Day is considered a University Holiday.
Note: Thanksgiving vacation and Winter vacation also have several days that are considered University Holidays when different special conditions are in effect. Follow this link for University Holiday Special Conditions.
Summer Session
Summer Session
Summer Session includes all summer school blocks beginning on the first day of the earliest blocks, and ending on the last day of the last block.
Note: Summer Session Special Conditions are different than the Summer Vacation Special Conditions.
